- Beliefs on Doctrine
- We believe that there is one God (YHWH), eternally existing in three persons – God the Father, God the Son (Jesus Christ), and God the Holy Spirit. We believe that God created all things by His spoken Word. We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, His bodily resurrection, ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.
- We believe that Jesus Christ is the way, truth, and the life and the only way to salvation, and eternal life.
- We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God and inerrant in the original writings.
- We believe that we are lost and sinful, and we must be saved, and that man’s only hope of redemption is through accepting the shed blood of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, as atonement for our sins. We believe in and practice the holy ordinance of water baptism and the regular celebration of Holy Communion as commanded by our Lord.
- We believe that holiness is a progressive work of grace, beginning at the time of salvation and continuing for the rest of our lives. We celebrate the fact that we are set apart for God and our lives are becoming more holy day by day (Sanctification).
- We believe in the present ministry and baptism of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling we as Christians are enabled to live a Godly life.
- We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the unsaved; those that are saved into the resurrection of life, and those that are unsaved into the resurrection of damnation.
- We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ .
- Additional Religious Beliefs
- Marriage and Sexuality
- We believe that God created man and woman each with their own specific attributes and features. The union of one man and one woman is His original and perfect design for marriage and procreation.
- We believe that our bodies were created to glorify God, not pursue our lusts or redefine creation. God is sovereign and his Word confirms that heterosexual union for married persons and faithful celibate behavior for unmarried persons are the only Biblical options for sexual conduct. The Bible confirms that anything else is sin, and detrimental to the people partaking in it.
- We believe that the only legitimate definition of marriage is the one delineated in the Bible: a single, covenantal union that is sanctioned by God, between a man and a woman. Marriage ceremonies performed in any space owned, leased or rented by the church will be those that are sanctioned by God, and join one man and one woman (as defined at birth) in holy matrimony.
- We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of marriage as defined in the first bullet of this subsection. Anything extraneous to this is contradictory to God’s design for humans, and is ultimately detrimental.
- We believe that God creates human beings as male and female. These two genders are distinct, unchangeable, and a reflection of God’s nature and image. To reject them is to reject the image of God inside a person.
- Sanctity of Life
- We believe that human life begins at conception. As such, the unborn child is a living human being bearing the image of God and deserving of the value and protection given to other human beings.
- We believe that an intentional act or omission that facilitates premature death is assuming a decision that is to be reserved for God. (We do no believe that discontinuing medical procedures that are extraordinary or disproportionate to the expected outcome is euthanasia.)
- We believe that we should demonstrate love for others, not only towards fellow believers, but also toward those who are not believers, those who oppose us, and those who engage in sinful behavior.
- We believe that children are a blessing from the Lord, and must be absolutely protected within the church from any form of abuse or molestation. We have a zero-tolerance policy for any persons who abuses or molests a child.
